Health is wealth

OVERVIEW & TRAININGS

A chronic illness in his early 20s lead Jack to change his behaviour and attitude towards life putting his health and wellbeing first. Since then he has been cultivating a deeper spiritual and embodied connection with himself and the nature around him.

As an Acupuncturist, Energetic Bodyworker, Craniosacral and Sound Therapist he is attuned to the subtleties and rhythms of the body and environment weaving this awareness into his sessions that have foundations rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Craniosacral Therapy and Yoga. His sessions of Biodynamic Acupuncture transmit a gentle and accessible understanding of the ancient disciplines related to quality of awareness, stimulation of meridian channels & focus of the mind. With his trauma-informed sessions he invites clients to be with their sensations and explore the layers of their being with kindness and compassion.

Both Acupuncture and Craniosacral Therapy are powerful medicine modalities in their own right and Jack loves to combine these two therapies into what he calls ‘Biodynamic Acupuncture’. Expect a deep re-set of the nervous system and greater connection to self and life.

Jack uses a ‘classical’ minimalist style of acupuncture rooted in ancient Daoist Shamanism with connection to Nature and Spirit. Specific conditions can be treated as the needles can address any imbalance in the body mind. The Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy creates the safety container to allow the client to drop into a deep state of relaxation that supports the healing process as old tensions and traumas held in the system are released bringing about a renewed sense of connection and vitality.

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture (針灸 zhen jiu) is a system of medicine that is over 2000 years old. Originally from China it is now practiced in more than 130 countries worldwide. It has survived and grown simply because it has proved time and time again that it is effective, safe and adaptable to the individual. The system is based on the premise that the quality of your Qi (life energy) determines your state of health. If your Qi is in balance, health is maintained; but when out of balance, illness and disharmony result. Imbalances in your Qi can come about from a variety of factors. Some examples include stress, poor diet, physical or emotional trauma, excessive emotional states, infections or overwork.

Acupuncture is one of the most widely accepted forms of Alternative medicine, because is has been shown to be so effective, safe and free from side effects, more and more GP’s are recognising it as something that could benefit patients and therefore have a place in mainstream healthcare. Several independent studies and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have found it to be one of the safest forms of treatment available.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AN ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT

Acupuncturists work to establish the cause, nature and location of an individual’s imbalance, and the most effective way to treat it. This is commonly done by the insertion of fine needles into particular areas of the body, known as acupuncture points. These points lie on channels (or meridians), which circulate Qi throughout the body. By fine tuning the Qi in the channels, acupuncturists aim to achieve balance, health and harmony of each individual.

Treatment also often consists of other techniques in place of, or in conjunction with, the needles, where deemed appropriate. These techniques include massage, acupressure, moxibustion (the use of a burning herb around areas of the body to create warmth and energy), cupping (suction cups that draw out toxins or pathogenic factors) and advice (usually surrounding the likely causes of the imbalance and possible ways of addressing these).

WHAT IS BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive holistic natural therapy.  It is beneficial in treating a wide range of conditions and can bring about profound healing at all levels: physical, mental, energetic and emotional.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy takes a whole-person approach to healing and the inter-connectedness of mind, body and spirit are deeply acknowledged.

The underlying foundation of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a recognition of the “breath of life”. The art of the therapist is to connect with these underlying forces of health, facilitating a process of natural reorganization.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is deeply relaxing. It assists the body’s natural healing processes, increasing physical vitality and well-being.

It aids in pain relief and encourages the nervous system, organs and musculoskeletal system to balance and heal.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is client-led. This means that the individuals’ system sets the pace at which the work progresses.
